Carsnip tops off great year of growth with 800k car listing milestone

Carsnip has topped off its fastest year of growth to date with new figures showing car listings on its website passed 800,000, nearly double the number available on its next biggest rival.

Online car search engine hits its highest ever number of cars – nearly twice as many as the next biggest car website

Nottingham, UK, 8th January 2018 – Carsnip has topped off its fastest year of growth to date with new figures showing car listings on its website passed 800,000, nearly double the number available on its next biggest rival.

The online car search engine was listing 800,000 cars through its platform across much of December 2017, a huge achievement for the company. Carsnip now has more than half of the country’s car dealers on its site.

Alastair Campbell, Carsnip CEO, said: “Ever since we started the aim has always been to create an online marketplace with the greatest possible choice for buyers and sellers. That means having more cars than anywhere else! That’s where most of our efforts in technology, time and investment have gone into as a result and now it’s paying off as we’re closing in on a million individual listings.

“For dealers, more choice means more potential buyers, so that’s faster sales for better prices. Our growth shows that demand is there among drivers for a new way of buying and selling cars. We’re giving people what they want – a simpler way to find the right car faster through car search that’s tailored to them.”

“We’re scaling up our team and infrastructure so we can keep growing at a sustainable rate. We’ve doubled the size of our team in a year and we’re planning to launch lots of new features for dealers and drivers using our site over the coming months.”

As well as this latest listing milestone, Carsnip Premium Pay-Per-Click (PPC) platform has secured more than 200 dealers from across the UK in its first eight months.

Carsnip Premium helps dealers increase sales and take back control online by driving more car buyers to their websites.

Unlike other sites it does not charge for listings. It works by dealers paying a fixed price each time a car buyer clicks on their online advert.

Neil Smith, operators director, Imperial Car Supermarkets said:

“The most important thing for us with any of our marketing activity is to give our customers choice and our car adverts reach. We want consumers to find their perfect car and for our stock to be in front of the largest number of potential customers possible, hence why we work with Carsnip. The results so far are very positive.”
