Great service history with this car, drives beautifully, Water Pump and Timing belt done. PROS sharp handling, good build quality, seven seats as standard 'Cleanse, downsize and economise.' It's the mantra behind most new cars these days, and Volkswagen has been at the forefront of this attitude shift for many years. Under its BlueMotion branding we've seen cars sipping fuel in the most frugal of manners, emitting less CO2 and generally being a bit kinder on the environment – and more importantly making them cheaper to run. However, its bigger cars are also now subject to the BlueMotion treatment. This latest Touran may just look like a mild refresh, but it also comes with a range of cleaner, more efficient engines and the option of BlueMotion technology to maximise efficiency. It has the obligatory ABS system complete with hydraulic brake assist, which applies the brakes automatically when the car comes to a stop. It also gets stability control, airbags for driver and front passenger (the latter can be deactivated for child seats), a curtain airbag system for front and second row passengers and whip-lash optimised head restraints that aim to reduce whiplash in case of a crash. Thanks to its car-like five-door configuration the Touran is easy to access while the large rear hatch means loading things into the back is pretty simple. There's a maximum of 35 storage areas in the cabin of the Touran (depending on configuration). The middle row of seats slide forwards and backwards, fold down or can be completely removed.
